Yeah… it’s been a while

So, I got my mitts on the BETA of Office 2010 today, so not that I’m the most intensive power user when it comes to MS Office, I’m giving it a whirl, and uploading this post (or at least trying to upload…)

Anyhoo, it looks like Office 2007, but… better.

And that’s saying something, because I was (and still am) impressed with Office 2007 when I first had a look at that one!

It’s probably still too early to give you an official review, but I think I’ve figured a nice conclusion out to this post:

If you can read this, then MS Office 2010 has not yet disappointed!

Indiana Jones and the airport

I really like flying.

No, seriously, air travel and everything about it (yes, that includes the airport) is fckn SCHWEET!

It takes me back to when I was a youngling, and had to be accompanied by an adult: The whole airport/flying thing is a HUGE adventure! (for me at least)

It's a boarding pass

It's a boarding pass

The huge digital signs, showing you what goes where and when; the beer & smokes in the bar as you wait to board; the non-working, “free” wi-fi hotspots…

Aside from the tech improvements, the only thing that’s changed, is that I now get to do the whole thing UNSUPERVISED!!!

(I think I just jizzed in my pants…)

So yes, I’ve been sent to Durban for two days (work shit), and am going at it alone. Aside from all the aforementioned excitement, there is a downside to this little “adventure…”

This will be the longest that my unbelievable wife and I will be apart since we’ve been married.
FML.

(All you long-timers out there, just let up; we’ve only been married for about six AWESOME months…)

But now that the bad has been aknowledged, let the adventure continue!

On a side note: I also enjoy the sense of accomplishment you have once you’ve figured out the intricasies of an airport, and you actually emerge where you need to be ON TIME!

Catch all of yez on the flipside!

An unforgettable weekend

GuitarOver the past weekend, I had the privilege of hanging out with my sister and her boyfriend. Both whom are quite talented individuals and an added bonus is that they are both also great people to spend time with!

A weekend where I saw Facebook only once, and that was only to make sure that my crops in FarmVille weren’t dying. The television only got switched on late on Sunday afternoon, and this was only to catch up with the soaps we’ve missed during last week. (which was a rather FUBAR one…)

And the music.

For those of you tuning in for the first time, music is a big deal for me. So aside from listening to good music, and chatting about good music, my wife and I were also treated to an impromptu private show, which was not only technically flawless (in my opinion) but probably one of the most special things I have experienced in my life.

To wrap it all up; yes, this is kind of a “gloat” post, but it could also be a reminder to all of us caught up in the daily rat race to just switch off over the weekends and have a great time, preferably with great people.

And yes, this post is dedicated to both my sister and the BF.
To both of you: Thank you for an amazing weekend – one we’ll never forget, and one we’ll be sure to repeat!

Till next time.
